Video
Poker was introduced in the 1970s. Video poker is an increasingly popular
casino game, thanks largely to the increased interest in poker. A typical video poker machine has a strong
resemblance to a slot machine, and can be in either
a tabletop or free standing version.
Video poker machines accept nickels, quarters,
dollars and sometimes five dollars. The majority of online video
poker games are based on five-card draw poker. In five-card
draw, players are dealt five cards, they can then throw away any
of the cards to try to improve their hand. New cards are dealt
replacing the discarded cards, the final five cards you hold decide
your fate.
In video poker, instead
of beating the hands of opponent's, a player wins when he holds
any of the five-card combinations listed in the hierarchy
of winning hands. If the resulting poker hand holds a winning combination,
the player will be credited according to the payout schedule
displayed.
As in poker, video poker hands
are valued according to their five-card ranking, a Royal
Flush being ranked the highest and a Pair being the lowest.
Video
poker game varieties include Jacks or Better, Joker’s Wild,
Deuce’s Wild and King of the Decks.
